The Animal Control Unit consists of two Animal Wardens who enforce City, County, State and Federal animal control laws and responds to calls concerning domestic animals as well as wild animals. If the Animal Wardens are unable to handle the call then they can refer the public to other options to alleviate the problems. Only Animal Control Officers in the city that are certified to use a tranquilizing gun for capturing animals without serious injury to the animal.

When calling:
- Animal complaint: Please leave a detailed message including the address of where the pet lives and what details about what is going on.
- About a lost pet: Please leave a phone number, address the pet was last seen at, description of the pet, and the pets name.
